Swapping Tokens

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to trade any token on TangleSwap. For a detailed overview of the concepts and features behind the application, please refer to the Swap dApp explainer.

Before going through the full guide below, let's take a moment to familiarize ourselves with the swap process:

To swap tokens on TangleSwap, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the Swap interface.

Step 2: Connect your wallet to TangleSwap.

Step 3: Select the tokens to swap.

1. First, browse the token list to find the token you wish to trade. You can also search by token name or token contract address, if that is more convenient.
2. Next, click Select token and choose the token you want to receive.

Importantly, the TangleSwap protocol is able to use every single token that exists in the network. You can simply copy-paste its address, and the interface will automatically display the token's information for you.

Step 4: Enter the amount you wish to give (input), or alternatively the amount you want to receive (output).

Step 5: If needed, the TangleSwap interface will prompt you to approve the token.

If MetaMask asks for a custom amount to approve, we suggest choosing Default instead of Max. In this way, you won't need to approve the same transaction later on. You can learn more about approvals here.

Step 6: Optionally, expand the Orbit Router component to review your trading route and fee.

Step 7: Verify your transaction details, and click Swap.

Step 8: Verify one last time your details, and confirm the swap.

Step 9: Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

Step 10: Done! You can now either Close the confirmation window, or click View transaction to see your transaction details on the network's explorer.
